Winter Kite Festival
Come and marvel at the giant inflatable show kites, precision stunt kite flying, artistic designer kites and spectacular and colorful ground display, all at the Long Lake Winter Kite Festival.
The event is free and open to the public along with free kite making for kids at Prop's Sports Bar & Grill on Hwy M, Sarona WI. Bring your family and friends and enjoy this great event. At the end of the day, there will be a mass ascension of Sky Lanterns. Kites will be available for sale there, and so are food and refreshments.
We are scheduled to host approximately 28 Flyer’s from around the Midwest. Each Flyer has their own special kites.
Steve Nicol~Waukesha, WI Began flying 2009 Home Flying Field: Veterans Park, Milwaukee, WI Club Affiliations: Wisconsin Kiters Club, American Kitefliers Assn. What kites I have: Far too many to list here, but I prefer large flow forms (sparless kites) and lifters that you can attach line laundry to. Line laundry would be items you attach to the kite line and ranges from spin socks to tails to a huge variety of inflatable objects. Two of my favorite pieces of laundry are my 23 ft. long Bengal tiger and my large green frog with its matching tadpoles. Where I have flown: all over the state of Wisconsin, Shipshewana, Indiana, and Lincoln and Waukegan, Illinois
Larry Day~Organizer Color The Wind Kite Festival, Clear Lake Iowa Started kiting at age 54 in 1999 with kite purchase in Door County, WI Went from single line to 2 line to 4 line to show kites and ground banners Inventory includes 4 Peter Lynn kites: 2 full size (Teddy Bear & Manta
Ray) and 2 midsize (Octopus & Gecko), 3 Sutton 252's, Bol 28’ Loves flying the quad Revolution kite over water off a dock, submerge it and return to surface relaunching. I have flown kites over Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean, and over the Salmon Glacier in Hyde, Alaska this past summer.
Goal: Put smiles on all those ages 3 to 93. Looking forward to Long Lake fly~Larry
